update:
Due to my recent re-rendering of this image (check blue, red , and white version), I decided to re-post the original as well. So this is a shrunk down version of the new 6000x4500px render. Enjoy!

original comment:
This one was done with a student-copy of Cinema4D.
Quite simple in construction thou, but took some hell of a time to be rendered at highest resolution. This one is 1280x1020 but higher resolutions are available on my personal homepage (up to 1600x1200).

How did you come up with this...I love the way it seems like the boxes aren't actually joined together, but slotted in place, yet the structure holds perfectly.

Now that would be trippy! But really, I'd had to start all over again, because all the cubes have no colour really, there is just one coloured light in the room. So I dunno, maybe some day, if you're quite patient ;)

Well, you should've asked me BEFORE that, to get permission to use it. I'm no exception, this is a general rule for copyrighted material. Giving credit is NOT enough.

However, I won't take action against it. I give you permission to use it in the way you did. But for the future, always get the artist's permission FIRST please.
