Winona

I've been a fan of Winona since I was a boy. It was movies like "Dinky" or "Mermaids" that made me a fan of her's. And I wanted her ever since. ...to draw of course! =P

Now, I was kinda quick with this one, mainly because I chose to focus only on her faice and not the hair. So: only 5.5 hours. But 5.5 straight! The usual tools: el-cheapo-printer-paper + Pentel 0.5mm H and HB mechanical pencil + Cretacolor 5.6mm 2B leadholder. As always. And a rubber for some highlights. This was rather new thou.

Anyways, I like eyes and lips in detail, but I'm not that content with the overal result, something seems off. What do you say?

update: I resubmitted it now due to some changes I made. I figured that the jaw/chin was too powerful in the image, so I darkened it slightly down, and also (as suggested), made eyelashes and lines on the lips a bit less dominant (as far as this was possible -- thanks to ~nannermal for this). You probably won't see much of the changes, but maybe the overal impression is a bit better now ;)

Really nice work, although I think the eyelashes and lines on the lips are a little bit too defined. Instead of individual lashes, maybe try using clumps of them? Just a suggestion, but other than that this is well done. Kudos for you.

woah.... thats incredible! i love this one, and i know you think theres something 'off' with it, but i think that any small imperfection adds charm to it. the eyes are really something special. definitely deserving of a favourite!!!!

hm, you mitgh be right. althou it was kinda my plan to do it as detailed as possible, but maybe i've overdone it a bit. anyways, thanks for the thought! :)

the eyes and lips are very nice and the shading is very good too... something does seem off but I can't put my finger on it but the overall pic is wonderful... I think it is a good job.

I knew just who it was when I saw the thumbnail! It looks great. The reflection in her eyes look perfect, good work!
