Portfolio Page 01

Description

My submission to the Portfolio Page Contest (see News Article here).

Nothing too fancy, but you got it all on one page – in coherent dAv5-userpage colours.

  1. Right on top we got the usual header, but if the dA-guys feel like it they may change the bottom line to whatever necessary ("welcome to rotane's portfolio" or whatever).

  2. the typical "username" becomes the artist's real name (similar to the storefront), with a backlink to the real userpage via username.

To the right we got an extra tab linking to the Portfolio Page. And below are 3-4 extra lines for a very short description of oneself.

  3. The main portfolio-part, a filmstrip of the artist's selected artwork. Below is a link to the full portfolio-gallery: not the full gallery, but all selected deviations in one place. We also got left/right arrows to move back/forth on the strip. This could happen dynamically (read AJAX, not Flash).

Note that it could be possible to add more than just one strip. If one prefers they can add one for photography, one for webdesign, one for illustrating, etc.

  4. Personal Details, can be edited via a settings-page. Pretty much just a simple text-field.

  5. Contact area. Similar to 4, a slightly more complex text field (artists have the option to not only fill in address, phone, etc, but can also define what is said on the left "Skype", e.g.).

  6. Just like 4 and 5 but you get the option to create a table, in either one or two columns.

In addition, it should be possible to re-arrange the blocks 3 to 6 to the artist's preference (similar to how subscribers can rearrange the sidebar on the journal page).

It is an old art but I love the reference to the very first DeviantArt UI. Back when DA was user-friendly and clearer.
